We are always looking for enthusiastic and motivated students who are interested in joining the Associated Student Government of UConn Avery Point. There are several ways you can get involved and make a positive impact on campus, including running for elected positions or joining committees.
No matter what position you are interested in, joining the Associated Student Government at UConn Avery Point is a great way to get involved on campus, meet new people, and make a difference in your community. We encourage you to explore our website and social media pages to learn more about our organization and the opportunities we offer!
Run For Office
If you are interested in running for an elected position, you can participate in our annual Fall and Spring elections. In the Fall, we elect the Vice-President and at least one member of the Elected Board. In the Spring, we elect the President and up to seven members of the Elected Board. Each election period lasts one week and paper ballots are used to determine the results.
Apply For An Office
If you do not want to run for an election but want to become an officer, you can do that! The ASG consists of numerous positions that are appointed by the President. Roles and responsibilities range from a heck of a lot to not that much at all! A few positions you can apply for include: Treasurer, Secretary, Inclusion Director, Communications Director, University Senator, and more!
Join A Committee
Join a committee. It's easy! All you have to do is either join our UConntact roster or regularly attend our meetings! All students are welcome to get involved. As a member of a committee, students are expected to attend weekly ASG and committee meetings, contribute to the discussion, and work on small – but meaningful – projects to improve the campus community.
